Vietnam's golf industry has evolved rapidly over the past decade. From a handful of colonial-era resort courses to a national portfolio of 80+ layouts — including work from Robert Trent Jones Jr., Greg Norman, Nick Faldo, Luke Donald, and Colin Montgomerie — the country now offers a genuine world-class golf circuit.
These are the 10 courses that Asia Golf Specialists considers essential for any serious golf traveller to Vietnam in 2026. Rankings are based on our direct experience over multiple years, client feedback, and assessment across course design, conditioning, caddie quality, and overall experience.
1. Hoiana Shores Golf Club
Designer: Robert Trent Jones Jr. | Location: Quảng Nam | Par: 71 | Rating: ★★★★★
Vietnam's undisputed finest. A links masterpiece on natural duneland, with a back nine that plays along the East Sea coast. The course we recommend playing first and last on any Da Nang circuit. Read our full Hoiana Shores review.
2. The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip
Designer: Greg Norman | Location: Ba Ria-Vung Tau | Par: 71 | Rating: ★★★★★
The only clifftop course in Vietnam. Norman's finest Asian design, with the back nine running along the South China Sea ridgeline 30 metres above the waves. Norman's personal favourite in the region. Full review: Bluffs Ho Tram.
3. Ba Na Hills Golf Club
Designer: Luke Donald | Location: Da Nang | Par: 72 | Rating: ★★★★★
Mountain golf at 1,500m elevation with an unmissable night golf option. The contrast between the Da Nang coastal courses and Ba Na Hills' highland setting is genuinely remarkable. Full review: Ba Na Hills review.
4. Montgomerie Links Vietnam
Designer: Colin Montgomerie | Location: Da Nang | Par: 72 | Rating: ★★★★☆
Scotland-influenced links golf on the Central Coast. Tactical, wind-affected, and more unforgiving than the long yardage suggests. The thinking player's choice in the Da Nang circuit.
5. BRG Đà Nẵng Golf Resort (Norman Course)
Designer: Greg Norman | Location: Da Nang | Par: 72 | Rating: ★★★★☆
Da Nang's most established course — the former Danang Golf Club redesigned into a 36-hole facility. Wide fairways, excellent conditioning, and an accessible challenge for mid-handicappers. A strong third-day option in a Da Nang circuit.
6–10: The Supporting Circuit
Schmidt-Curley design — 27 holes, strong conditioning, competitive tee fees. Good 4th course in a Da Nang extension.
Sir Nick Faldo's only Vietnam design — mountain-meets-coast layout with the Trường Sơn mountains as a backdrop. Spectacular scenery.
8. Vietnam Golf & Country Club (Ho Chi Minh City)
The original prestige address in Southern Vietnam. Twin 18-hole layouts, immaculate conditioning, and a membership roster that reads like a corporate directory.
9. Dalat Palace Golf Club
Vietnam's most atmospheric course — a 1920s French-era layout at 1,500m in the Đà Lạt highlands. Colonial character and cool mountain temperatures year-round.
10. Kings Island Golf Resort (Hanoi)
Northern Vietnam's finest — Robert Trent Jones Jr. on a river island outside Hanoi. The island setting and mountain backdrop make this a standout experience for golfers combining Hanoi culture with golf.
